NATIONAL NEWS - Eden Disaster Centre Chief Gerhard Otto asked the public to cease donating goods for fire victims and donate money instead.
Monetary donations can be deposited into the audited emergency fund created by Eden District Municipality.

Marlene Nqumse from the Eden DM communication unit says there is still a great need for water and toiletries.
They are being inundated by queries about donations and ways to assist fire victims.

If you do have goods like clothes, blankets, mattresses and non-perishable food you wish to donate, deliver it to the Eden District Fire Station based at 17 Pioneer Street, Pacaltsdorp Industria (opposite Tyres & Treads).
More relief efforts
Several local organisations, including the George Lions and Amiici, have been coordinating a huge relief effort since the news of the fire devastation broke last week. Donations can also be made into an account for their relief efforts.
