Update
GEORGE NEWS - Alison Botha posted an update on her condition from her hospital bed on her Facebook page today.
She is in high care in a public hospital after suffering an aneurysm on 25 September. Botha has become known internationally for her courage after surviving a vicious assault and rape in 1997 by Frans du Toit and Theuns Kruger. They were released on parole last year.
The fighting spirit and positive attitude that have caused Alison to be so admired and loved by the public, shine through in her message that also reveals a brave sense of humour:
"It’s been a while. After a month, I am able to personally update you on my recovery this far.
"I am still in hospital and starting the long journey of rehabilitation. I have been assessed by the doctors and physio therapists and have been informed that I can soon be transferred to a specialist rehabilitation centre, because of the generosity of so many selfless people. Thank you.
