LIFESTYLE NEWS - Every year thousands of unwanted kittens are born. They often get thrown out onto busy roads, abandoned, drowned, poisoned and worse. The Garden Route SPCA is pleading with everyone to get their cats sterilised.
Sterilising your cat has the following benefits:
- Cats become more affectionate and less inclined to wander off their territories.
- Neutering reduces spraying and can even eliminate it altogether.
- It eliminates cat choruses, which are usually caused by unneutered males challenging each other for females in heat or for territory. In other words, it minimises sexual and territorial aggression.
If you cannot afford a private vet you are welcome to bring your cat to the SPCA day clinic. It is open Mondays to Fridays from 09:00 to 13:00 for walk-ins and between 14:00 and 16:00 for appointments only. The phone number is 071 658 7353.
Please consider sponsoring or giving a donation towards sterilisation of a cat from an impoverished area.
