HEIDELBERG NEWS - The Western Cape Department of Forestry, Fisheries and Environment Working on Fire Programme have launched a Fire Awareness Campaign.
It will host a series of fire awareness education talks to communities in fire prone areas in the province.
The campaign launch, which included stakeholders from GCIS, Cape Nature, Overberg District Municipality, University of Stellenbosch and Waterfund was held on October 13 to coincide with the International Day of Risk reduction.
A total of 3 000 community members who have been identified by FPA, Municipality and Disaster Management and 50 schools are targeted.
