HESSEQUA NEWS - Electronic waste or e-waste is in a category of its own as far as disposal is concerned.
Many electronic components contain harmful substances and should be disposed of in a specialised manner. Batteries could even explode in the trash.
In Hessequa e-waste can be dropped in every town at the municipality's local public works' workshops, where it will be kept safely until Henque Waste can collect it.
According to municipal manager Johan Jacobs, plans are also ready for the creation of after hours facilities at all head offices.
Physical addresses of workshops where e-waste can be dropped off:
- Riversdale: Vetterivier Drive, Riverville Stadium
- Albertinia: 5 Skool Street
- Stilbaai, Melkhoutfontein and Jongensfontein: Cnr Main Road West and Sterretjie Avenue, Stilbaai
- Gouritsmond: 2 Voortrekker Street
- Heidelberg, Slangrivier and Witsand: 5 Niekerk Street, Heidelberg
