HESSEQUA NEWS - After first releasing cheetah into the Garden Rout Game Reserve (GRGL)in 2007, they had to wait five years for their first litter of cubs to be born.
Wildlife manager Abri Olivier noticed on 4 February that the GPS tracking collar readings indicated that their younger female had not moved for several days.
His suspicions were later confirmed when he discovered mom had given birth to six tiny cubs.
"The six cubs will remain hidden for the first eight weeks, after which we hope to catch a glimpse of mom and her cubs as they begin to accompany her on hunts," Olivier said.
