GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Beekeepers and interested parties in the Southern Cape are invited to the Southern Cape Beekeeping Industry Association (SCBiA) field day on Saturday, 27 May.
Two important topics will be covered: bee removals and brood box management.
Experts John Stoltz and Kobus Voswill guide you through the process of safely removing and relocating bees to a more suitable location.
This is a crucial skill for all beekeepers, as it helps to protect the precious honeybee populations.
The brood box is the heart of your bee colony and proper management is key to maintaining healthy and productive bees.
The experienced beekeepers will share their insights on how to properly manage your brood box, including techniques for monitoring and controlling varroa mites and other common pests.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn from some of the most knowledgeable beekeepers in the Southern Cape. The field day will be held from 09:00 to 13:00 at Brinkleys River Village in Riverside, Little Brak River.
Admission is free for all SCBiA members and non-members are welcome at a small fee. Boerewors rolls and salads will be available.
