SOUTHERN CAPE NEWS - SWD got their campaign in the Cricket South Africa Provincial One Day Challenge off to a great start with a 9-run victory against Eastern Province on Sunday.
SWD, who batted first after winning the toss, were bowled out for 204 in the 47th over. The home side made a great start thanks to an opening partnership of 60 (in 9.1 overs) between Neil Hornbuckle (24; 33 balls, 4x4) and Hanno Kotze (52; 69 balls, 1x6, 6x4).
They, slumped from 101/1 to 150/8, but thanks to a fine knock by skipper Obus Pienaar (70; 84 balls, 7x4), reached 204.
