I have this distinct memory from when I was a young girl: sitting at the airport with my family on our way to our annual family vacation and seeing a professional woman strut by with her power suit and colour-coded luggage. Our Experience:
With winter upon us, we were not only putting Pezula to the family staycation test, but a winter family staycation test.
The one thing that makes the Garden Route so special is its views in the winter. The golden sunsets over the breathtaking Outeniqua mountains and endless seascapes are out of this world, and Pezula’s nest atop the Sparrebosch hill in Knysna is like vacating with the gods.

It's easy to be distracted by stunning views, though; however, that is just the cherry atop the tiered sundae. When we arrived, we were welcomed by a very professional company of staff and escorted to our suites. Since we were traveling with our daughter, who, like most 2-year-olds, thought everything was for her, naturally our attention was on her needs, so when we were welcomed into a suite well kitted out for a 2-year-old, including a robe, a princess box (kiddies gift), and a mini bar stocked with healthy kiddie-friendly snacks, our hearts were won over.
We immediately went to explore the onsite activities and spent the afternoon swimming in the indoor pool and enjoying the wood-fired hot tubs, and like time always does when you are having fun, we blinked and the day was gone. Time for dinner.

Zachary’s Grill Room, the onsite restaurant, is renowned for making the best steak in town, and boy does it live up to those expectations. The restaurant is warm, comfortable, and serviced by well-trained professional staff and if, like us, you are travelling with young ones, welcome them with open arms, high chairs, and great meal choices!

The days to follow were jam-packed with family fun and activities. From beautiful nature hikes and private beach trips to delectable chocolate tastings at Ile De Chocolat and kiddy jam sessions at their fun-filled indoor Kids Zone, and let me not forget the spa, where I could have spent all my days soaking up the spoils and pampers provided by their talented beauticians therapists.
