Soldier mistaken for robber stoned to death

NATIONAL NEWS – A 30-year-old soldier was stoned to death at Ten Rooms informal settlement in Hartbeespoort Dam near Brits, North West police said on Monday.

“It is alleged that the man was mistaken for a robber and the community members chased, cornered and stoned him to death. It was later discovered that the deceased was a fully functional member of the South African National Defence Force,” said Sergeant Kelebogile Moleko.

She said the deceased was found with multiple serious head and upper body injuries. A case of murder was been investigated.
