GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - The International Space Station will be passing over George tonight.
It's a nice clear day so everyone should be able to see it. It will be very bright! (-3.8 magnitude).

The space station looks like a bright star that is moving. For people in George, it will appear towards Glentana at 20:24 and then climb directly above us and then move towards the North East horizon.
There are currently seven astronauts onboard, two Americans, three Russians, a Japanese and a Dane.
The International Space Station is around 417 km above the earth, and travelling at 7.66 Km/second! It only takes 92 minutes for the weightless laboratory to make a complete circuit of Earth.
Astronauts working and living on the Station experience 16 sunrises and sunsets each day.
There are currently 10 people in space. There are three Chinese astronauts on the new Chinese Space Station called Tiangong. They will pass over George at 18:26, from the North West.
