RIVERSDAL
Kristalkloof Voerslaanpad - Hierdie voetslaanpad is 20,904km lank, is 'n maklike tweedag-stap, maar kan deur die fikse stapper in ongeveer agt tot nege ure voltooi word. Dit begin in die Garciapas in die Kristalkloof en een van die steilste klimme is vroeg op die roete. Oornagtariewe beskikbaar. Navrae, besprekings en permitte by Takkieskloof Toeriste Oord of skakel 028 713 8016.
Sleeping Beauty Voetslaanpad - Die voetpad lei oor 'n afstand van 13km vanaf die Tolhuis na die kruin van Sleeping Beauty en terug. Die staproete lei deur pragtige fynbos en ander na-tuurskoon, wat dit 'n paradys vir enige entoesias maak. Navrae, besprekings en permitte by Takkieskloof Toeriste Oord of skakel 028 713 8016.
Regulasies is by toegangspunte aangebring waar van toepassing. Algemene reels met betrekking tot natuurbewaring en in agneming van mede-stappers is vir alle roetes geldig.

STILBAAI
West River Bank hiking trail - This trail follows the western shore of the Goukou River between the jetty/launching area and the harbour, inclu-ding the stream from the information centre. the trail can be started from the info centre, the harbour or the jetty. The route is paved most of the way and is fairly level. Bird watching and nature can be enjoyed along this scenic route. Approximately 2km each way.
Skulpiesbaai Nature Reserve - These hiking trails criss-cross the entire nature reserve and can be started from the whale watching point near the harbour as well as the parking areas at Morris Point and at the parking area near the fish traps. Take own water and snacks. Between 2 and 6km. Wear walking shoes and hats.
Southern Right trail - This is a coastal trail between Stilbaai and Jongensfontein, starting from Morris Point and ending up at the caravan park in Jongensfontein. Care must be taken to walk this trail at low tide as it can become dangerous with higher tides. For the season swimmer there are beautiful rock pools to swim in on the way. Take own water and snacks, sun block, camera and wear hiking shoes and hat. Approximately 11km.
Pauline Bohnen Nature Reserve - This is a large reserve and has several trails on it. Don't forget to take along your camera, water bottle and snacks. There are beehives in the reserve and care must be taken to avoid annoying the bees. There are trails of various lengths, anything from one hour to the whole day. Hat and sun block recommended.
Geelkrans Nature Reserve - Self issue permits are available at the gate. the trail goes in a loop towards the east and returns via the coast. This trail can be fairly challenging and is not very well marked. Take along water, snacks, binoculars and camera and wear hiking shoes, hat and sun block. Approximately three hours.
Klipfontein Nature Reserve - This is a private nature reserve and is situated about 20km up te Goukou River. For further details contact Dr Janet Naude at 072 448 0804.
Noorkapper Walk - From Morris Point to Jongensfontein (11km).
Strandloper Walk - Circle route from community hall (8km).
Palingkloof Walk - From Palinggatopstal to Lapskuit kiosk and further.
WITSAND
Infanta Walk - It starts at Kontiki on the Western bank of the river and follows its sandy shore until it gives way to rocks at Kabeljoubank. 5km, two hours out and return. No permits required.
Breede River Mouth Walk - This walk meanders along the sandspit on the river of Eastern bank. At lowtide the walk follows the river's edge and the sea, but at high tide the route is across soft sand and dunes. 6km and two hours out and return.
Moodies Well Walk - The walk should be done at lowtide. 8km and three hours out and return.
Puntjie Walk - This walk follows the coastline from Witsand past Moodies Well, Voëlklip and Kleinfontein Beach to Puntjie, at the mouth of the Duivenhoks River. The hike can be done with a guide (call Pietie at 082 738 2101) during spring lowtide in summer. Trailists are collected by vehicle from the end. 15-20km, six hours, open-ended.
Witsand Walks - Include the River View Walk, which passes along the River View Drive; Skuitbaai Walk (3km, one hour) and Westfield Walk (5 or 8km, two to two and a half hour).
