Die vragmotor, wat tussen Albertinia na Riversdal onderweg was, het die N2 naby die Soetmelksrivier-afrit sowat 10 km buite Riversdal verlaat en omgeslaan. Die voertuig met 'n Gauteng-registrasienommer het motoronderdele vervoer.
