STILBAAI NUUS - During the early hours of Sunday 21 August members of Stilbaai Police conducted patrols at Melkhoutfontein, just outside this coastal town.
"They received information of illicit activities in the vicinity and responded swiftly," said Sergeant Christopher Spies, Western Cape police spokesperson.
"The members pounced on a residence and after they searched the premises, the police found 21 Mandrax tablets, two quarters of Mandrax tablets, 18 sachets consisting tik and three bankies of dagga."
The police confiscated the drugs and arrested the 29-year-old occupant on a charge of dealing in drugs.
"Drugs remain a contributor to incidents of gender-based violence and femicide. The vigilance of police to remove these drugs from the streets would go a long way in safeguarding those affected by this scourge of GBVF," said Spies.
