HEIDELBERG NUUS - SA Karaoke champion Denice Marais will be on her way to Helsinki to participate in the World Karaoke finals on Sunday 12 November.
According to Cameron Dugmore of the ANC they have managed to mobilize enough resources to fly her to Helsinki with her manager from Cape Town International Airport.
“A taxi of supporters from Heidelberg is coming to see her off. The local community raised R5 000,” he said.
MEC Anroux Marais arranged a R10 000 donation from DCAS. ACSA has kindly arranged the media room at the airport for a send off ceremony at 09:00.
Marais is a factory worker and the daughter of a farm worker.
They are in desperate need for cash to pay for her accommodation for the week.
