ALBERTINIA NEWS AND VIDEO - Matla A Bana and Xtreme for kids cycle tour paid a visit to Oker primêr in Albertinia.
Lunch was sponsored and enjoyed at La Bella from where they departed again on their journey.
Their aim is to create awareness among children so that they know what to do in a situation where they could be sexually abused.They are educated to know what their rights are and what to do to avoid becoming another statistic of child rape.
They have a character named Smiley which entertains learners while they learn how they can stand up for and protect themselves.

Monique Strydom found Matla A Bana - A voice against child abuse in 2001 after the terrible rapes of two babies in South Africa. Together with Dirk Lourens they started the Xtreme for kids cycle tour. On their journey, they stop at schools where they teach children to act quickly.
The cycle tour consists of a group of cyclists which cycle from Johannesburg to Cape Town.
This year when they arrived in Cape town they took part in the Cape Town Cycle tour as well. On their way, they cycled an average of 180km per day.

Strydom survived a four-month hostage ordeal in 2000 in the hands of Al Qaeda terrorists. On the morning of her release, she vowed to dedicate her life to help fellow South Africans in need.
They work very closely with the police in all towns and aim to put a stop to child rape and abuse.
