Delegates can sign up for this half-day conference between 08:00 and 14:00 at the Garden Court Hotel Mossel Bay.
"Lead the change" is the them, with Coenie de Villiers as the speaker, whose topic will be "How music can transform your life". De Villiers, a well-known South African musician, television personality and businessman, is a rare combination of creative spirit and solid business sense, embodying a scintillating combination of right and left brain thinking.
The SACBW is a non-profit organisation represented nationally by successful business women. The council was established with the intention to found an organisation that represents women in business and to create a vehicle for women to network, learn from each other, grow and mentor other women. The slogan, “Unlocking potential” is key to this organisation whose explicit goal it is to see women grow to their full potential, reach their goals and succeed in business.
The congress is a learning forum designed for leaders, managers and entrepreneurs who want to advance their careers or grow their businesses by proactively pursuing their own professional and personal development. In April the council will head to Bloemfontein and the East Rand, in May Umhlanga and it ends the series of seminars in June in Nelspruit.
Musicians are of the most successful thinkers. The music brain unlocks hidden potential which many a non-musician may not even know he or she may be harbouring. By taking the audience through the basics of the “music brain” De Villiers shows the audience in an interactive way that all people essentially have a music brain.
He tops off the session by moving in behind the piano and - using the tenets of music such as rhythm and harmony - draws a parallel to our business practices and our lives. The session ends with the audience composing an original song with the presenter at the keyboard.
There will be other speakers on the day as well as an interactive workshop to assist business women to become more dynamic and self-assured.
Registration for the congress opens at 08:00. The ticket price is R500 for members and R550 for non-members. Snacks, drinks and lunch will be provided during the seminar.
