STILBAAI NEWS - Participants in the 8th Kasselshoop Farm Run/Walk that took place on Saturday 29 September on the farm Klein Soebattersvlakte at Kasselshoop, were welcomed by a bright sunny day after two days of strong winds.
The 49 runners, walkers and strollers enjoyed the 5,1km route on the farm where colourful flowers are still in bloom. As the schools are closed, quite a few holidaymakers participated for the very first time while regular visitors, as well as regular local participants from Stilbaai and the area, enjoyed the fresh air.
Tishca de Coning (16), a regular visitor from Gauteng, was the fastest with a time of 24 minutes. She was just 47 seconds faster than the local youngster, Shelton Saaiman who was the first male at the finish. He was followed by local farmer, Johan de Jager with Bertie Barnard scholar, Schalk Fouché, rounding off the male podium.

Tishca's twin brother, Gunther, was fifth overall. Janeane Watt, who is on holiday in Stilbaai, was the second lady at the finish while Benine Koch, also a visitor, was third followed by the primary school teacher, Verona Pieterse and Madison Pienaar who also rounded off the top 10.
This monthly event caters for runners and walkers with the youngest entrant this time, being five years old while the farm owners mother, Annette Huskisson, completed her fourth farm run at the age of 77.
Jordan Tannous (5) from Klerksdorp enjoyed his run on the farm.
Grandfather Gerald Gaigher used the event to teach his two granddaughters about the farm life, plants and animals. Families and friends enjoyed the beauty of the farm and spent more time together afterwards having snacks and drinks at the tasting room.
Due to it being school holidays, a farm run is also being scheduled for Saturday 6 October. It will start at 08:00 and entries can be done on the morning before the event.
