FlySafair flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town loses cabin pressure

NATIONAL NEWS - Budget airline FlySafair says one of its planes had to turn back while on its way to Cape Town after taking off from Johannesburg this morning.

A passenger says it was a frightening experience.

“All of a sudden the oxygen masks came down automatically and nobody knew what to do about it, then we were told to put it on because we were losing air pressure rapidly.”

The airline says the aircraft experienced cabin depressurisation, but all safety precautions were immediately implemented.

There were more than 100 passengers on board.
