GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - The following statement was issued by the George municipality on 21 October for flooding on roads.
The following updates about roads are:
Kaaiman's Pass:
Stop and go remains in effect due to a mudslide. One lane is open with traffic moving slowly. Exercise extreme caution. Road cleanup to commence soon.
Saasveld Road and Seven Passes:
Avoid these routes due to fallen trees and heavy rain. SANRAL is addressing the issues.
Other Roads:
George and surrounding areas are experiencing heavy rain, impacting roads. Travel with caution and avoid unnecessary trips.
Low-Lying Areas and Bridges:
Residents in such areas, be vigilant. Monitor rising water levels and evacuate to higher ground when necessary.
