STILBAAI NEWS - The American writer H Jackson Brown Jr said: "When you can’t change the direction of the wind - adjust your sails." That is exactly what the tourism bureau in this coastal town aims to do.
Tourism throughout the world is one of the hardest-hit sectors during the Covid-19 pandemic. The local bureau believes however many people will feel a need to get out after the restrictions are lifted and they want to make sure Stilbaai and Jongensfontein are at the top of their bucket lists.
That is where project #GoStilbaai comes in. It entails virtual discount cards that will be marketed and sold by the bureau.
According to tourism officer Annerise Wolmarans, each card will be made out to the individual buyer with their initials and surname as per their ID documents. The card is for the owner's use only and does not apply to current bookings or orders.
The card will qualify the holder until 30 November for 20% discount on accommodation bookings, 10% discount on vouchers at local beauty salons and 10% discount on vouchers from restaurants and businesses.
Any business wishing to take part in this initiative can contact the bureau at stilbaaiinfo@easycoms.co.za, or phone Wolmarans on 028 754 2602.
