STILBAAI NEWS - South Africa's top extreme endurance adventurer, Gaven Sinclair, started off on a 1 000 km coastal run from Nelson Mandela Bay to Cape Town on 1 October on a story of hope and courage for those with chronic lifestyle disease and our country.
Sinclair reached Stilbaai on Thursday, 21 October. It is an unsupported run and he must carry his food and water in his backpack, which weighs about 15 kg.
He plans to reach Cape Town on 30 October.
Although his end goal is surviving 1 000 km, someone with a chronic disease similarly needs to approach their challenge in 1mm shifts. “That is a 365 mm turnaround in a year and by doing it, you inspire others to make their own 1 mm shifts. Imagine if the whole nation starts with 1 mm shifts, we will heal as individuals, then as communities and eventually as a country,” he said.
Anyone can follow Gaven Sinclair's journey on Instagram at gavensincgavensinclairadventures. If you see him along the way, you are more than welcome to join him on his run.
