On the first day of the competition the team played in a pool against the Leopards, Namibia and Eastern Province.
The team was successful in all three matches winning 21-12 against the Leopards, 26-12 against Namibia and 31-5 against EP. The SWD team was the only team in the tournament to win all three of their pool matches.
The second day saw the team beat Boland 17-12 in the quarter finals and peaking against the Leopards in the semi-finals with a convincing 39-0 walk over.
In the finals, the WP team caught the SWD off-guard with a determined attack, notching up three quick tries. The SWD boys pulled themselves together and dominated play with a courageous effort. In the end they ran out of time losing by one try 24-31.
