HESSEQUA NEWS - The Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries’ Working on Fire in the Western Cape has kick-started its annual Yellow Card Training (YCT) for summer fire season readiness preparations in Tulbagh and George on 26 September till 6 October.
More than 800 firefighters from the Western and Southern Cape will once again go through a gruelling three days refresher training to ensure that they are physically and mentally prepared to protect the province from aggressing fires.
The first group of 182 firefighters from Riversdale, Heidelberg, Albertinia, Swellendam, Newlands, Helderberg and Porterville will be completing their training on Wednesday while the second group consisting of 169 firefighters will start theirs.
