HEIDELBERG NEWS - A wildfire just broke out in the Heidelberg area (Friday, 21 November) at approximately 16:00 and is spreading rapidly.
According to the Garden Route District Municipality (GRDM), the fire is currently out of control, with infrastructure under threat on the south-eastern side near the Duiwenhoks Dam.
GRDM confirmed that ground crews from both the Garden Route District Municipality and Hessequa Municipality are en route, while aerial resources have already been deployed to assist in controlling the blaze.
