NATIONAL NEWS - The Correctional Services Department says a man killed in a shooting at a Stellenbosch night spot was at risk.
Donovan Jacobs was on parole when he was gunned down more than a week ago. A mother of two young boys, Nicole Muller, was caught in the crossfire and died at the scene.
According to Correctional Services board records, Jacobs was not allowed to be at Cubana on the night the fatal shooting.
It also states he was a member of the 28s gang.
Jacobs had started serving a 17-year jail sentence for kidnapping, murder and the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition in 2006.
In December 2014, he was released from prison after having served eight years and six months.
Correctional Service's Simphiwe Xaso says that Jacobs still had five years and five months of parole to serve at the time he was killed.
“His last home visitation was on 29 September 2017 at 8:20pm.”
Police are yet to arrest any suspects.
