Ou lokomotief word restoureer
Die dorp se bekende klas 7 lokomotief, Makadas wat op die plein as monument staan gaan gerestoureer word deur die Hessequa Raad. Makadas is gratis met 'n platbed-vragmotor na sy laaste rusplek op die dorp vervoer. Die lokomotief se 'boiler'-sertifikaat het in Mei 1971 verval, waarna dit aan die destydse Riversdal Munisipaliteit geskenk is en het op Riversdal Stasie op 21 Januarie 1977 gearriveer. In Junie daardie jaar is die lokomotief van die stasie na sy laaste rusplek vervoer.
